The National Institute of Photonic Science and Technology for Optical Communication Fotonicom consists of ten Academic Institution and two high tecnhology companies. Fotonicom´s headquarters is at Universidade Estadual de Campinas – Unicamp. In this project all five brazilian region are represented by at least one Associate Institutions.
Composed by experts at advanced nanophotonics systems and devices, and high capacity optcal networks, Fotonicom counts on 28 members: half of it working at Unicamp and the other half is splited among the Associated Institutions. Nine of these members are newcommers and have high potential for research, supported by the senior researchers.
