No in\u00edcio do s\u00e9culo XVII, Galileu fez uso extensivo da experimenta\u00e7\u00e3o para validar teorias, formando a base do m\u00e9todo cient\u00edfico moderno, que permitiu um enorme desenvolvimento da f\u00edsica ao longo dos s\u00e9culos subsequentes. Na primeira metade do s\u00e9culo XX, houve nova revolu\u00e7\u00e3o no conhecimento cient\u00edfico com a descoberta de regras de car\u00e1ter qu\u00e2ntico para a descri\u00e7\u00e3o de certos fen\u00f4menos observados na Natureza. Al\u00e9m de sua fundamental relev\u00e2ncia para o aprofundamento da compreens\u00e3o da descri\u00e7\u00e3o f\u00edsica da realidade, estas descobertas permitiram, eventualmente, o desenvolvimento de novos dispositivos e tecnologias que s\u00e3o dependentes de efeitos qu\u00e2nticos. Estes incluem laser, transistores e dispositivos semicondutores. Ao mesmo tempo, estas tecnologias permitiram o aparecimento de t\u00e9cnicas de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica cada vez mais sofisticadas; com isso, a metodologia experimental avan\u00e7ou significativamente ao longo das \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, inclusive quebrando barreiras entre as ci\u00eancias naturais, e criando novos campos de pesquisa como nanotecnologia, bioenergia, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"pt-BR\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"pt-PT\">Nesta Escola, uma s\u00e9rie de atividades ministradas por renomados pesquisadores nacionais e internacionais abordar\u00e1 os princ\u00edpios sobre os quais algumas das mais avan\u00e7adas t\u00e9cnicas experimentais se baseiam, al\u00e9m de mostrar aplica\u00e7\u00f5es na fronteira do cen\u00e1rio internacional. As atividades ser\u00e3o divididas em mini-cursos, aulas pr\u00e1ticas em laborat\u00f3rio e palestras plen\u00e1rias. Ser\u00e3o explorados dois temas, em espectroscopia \u00f3ptica ultra-r\u00e1pida, na primeira semana, e em sistemas qu\u00e2nticos mec\u00e2nicos, na segunda semana de atividades. A Escola em F\u00edsica Experimental Avan\u00e7ada proporcionar\u00e1 aos estudantes os ingredientes necess\u00e1rios para um profundo entendimento das ideias gerais e sobre as tecnologias abordadas. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"pt-BR\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span lang=\"pt-PT\">Os temas oferecidos contar\u00e3o com aulas conceituais de 1:30h, al\u00e9m de atividades pr\u00e1ticas em blocos de 4hs, distribu\u00eddas ao longo das manh\u00e3s das 2 semanas de escola. Al\u00e9m disso, programamos atividades extra classe como visitas a laborat\u00f3rios de pesquisa do IFGW e centros de pesquisa da regi\u00e3o. Embora os passos descritos acima sejam aparentemente simples de serem seguidos, eles n\u00e3o se d\u00e3o de maneira t\u00e3o linear. Al\u00e9m disso, diversos fen\u00f4menos naturais desafiam muitas das ferramentas tradicionais de modelagem te\u00f3rica, exigindo que novos m\u00e9todos sejam desenvolvidos. Ali\u00e1s, esse \u00e9 exatamente o motor da hist\u00f3ria de todas as grandes teorias cient\u00edficas: a necessidade de desenvolver novas abordagens. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"pt-BR\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> A no\u00e7\u00e3o de que os m\u00e9todos te\u00f3ricos que utilizamos para abordar fen\u00f4menos naturais est\u00e3o em constante reformula\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o \u00e9, por\u00e9m, transparente na maioria das grades curriculares de gradua\u00e7\u00e3o e de p\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o. Por raz\u00f5es hist\u00f3ricas e at\u00e9, talvez, epistemol\u00f3gicas, grande parte dessas grades apresenta aos alunos m\u00e9todos consolidados durante s\u00e9culos para tratar de fen\u00f4menos, em grande parte, j\u00e1 muito bem entendidos. \u00c9 necess\u00e1rio, portanto, que os alunos sejam minimamente apresentados \u00e0 essa realidade de constante demanda por novos m\u00e9todos. Essa escola tem esse objetivo.
