About:
Teacher Ettore received a Doctorate in Physics from the Università degli Studi dell’Aquila in L’Aquila, Italy. He works in the field of neutrino physics and dark matter. He was a member of the ICARUS and Warp collaborations at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS) (Italy). Still in LNGS participates in the DarkSide experiment whose main objective is the detection of wimps. It is also part of the experiments at Fermilab LArIAT, SBND and DUNE dedicated to neutrino physics. He is the leader of the photo-arrest system of the DUNE-SP (single phase) experiment. At UNICAMP he is responsible for the Léptons Laboratory where he conducts R&D research on TPC detectors in liquid argon. He was recently awarded the “Early Career Instrumentation Award 2019” awarded by the Particles and Fields division of the American Physics Society for the invention of ARAPUCA, a photon detector that will be used in dune’s largest liquid argon physics experiment.
