<\/div>\nSymposium for Early-career Particle Physicists<\/h3>\n
Organized by the Neutrino Physics and Astrophysics Study Group (GEFAN), IFGW\/UNICAMP<\/strong><\/p>\n The SYMEP\u00b2 \u2013 Sym<\/strong>posium for E<\/strong>arly-career P<\/strong>article P<\/strong>hysicists \u2013 aims to bring together young researchers working in particle physics, astroparticle physics, and related areas, intended as a space for undergraduate, MSc, and PhD students, as well as postdoctoral researchers, to present their work, share ideas, and engage in discussions.<\/p>\n The program will consist of talks in a colloquium-style format with durations of approximately 15 to 30 minutes, as well as poster sessions during coffee breaks.<\/p>\n Date:<\/strong> 5\u20137 October, 2026<\/p>\n Location:<\/strong> Audit\u00f3rio M\u00e9son Pi, Departamento de Raios C\u00f3smicos e Cronologia (DRCC), Instituto de F\u00edsica Gleb Wataghin (IFGW), Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP).<\/p>\n Registration deadline:<\/strong> September 01<\/p>\n There is no registration fee.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n SYMEP\u00b2 aims to cover a broad range of topics in particle physics, astroparticle physics, and related areas. Topics may include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n TBA after the registration deadline.<\/i><\/p>\n To register for the event, please fill out the Registration Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n SYMEP\u00b2 will take place at the Departamento de Raios C\u00f3smicos e Cronologia (DRCC), IFGW\/UNICAMP, on the UNICAMP campus in Campinas, S\u00e3o Paulo. The scientific talks will be held in the Audit\u00f3rio M\u00e9son Pi, located within the DRCC facilities.<\/p>\n Address: <\/strong>R. Mendeleyev, 212 – Cidade Universit\u00e1ria, Campinas – SP, 13083-860<\/a>.<\/p>\n Participants are advised to access the DRCC through the entrance on Rua Mendeleyev<\/strong>. While access to the building normally requires a UNICAMP ID card, the entrance will remain open during the event allowing free access for SYMEP\u00b2 participants.<\/p>\n Participants coming from outside Campinas may find accommodation in the Bar\u00e3o Geraldo district, where the UNICAMP campus is located. The SYMEP\u00b2 organization does not have partnerships or special arrangements with hotels, hostels, or other accommodation providers in the area. However, a variety of accommodation options at affordable rates can generally be found in Bar\u00e3o Geraldo through platforms such as Booking.com and Airbnb.<\/p>\n Several cafeterias and food outlets are available throughout the UNICAMP campus, offering affordable options for lunch, dinner, snacks, and drinks.<\/p>\n UNICAMP’s university restaurants (RUs) are not directly accessible to external visitors. Participants interested in having meals at the university restaurants should consult the Refei\u00e7\u00f5es para visitantes<\/a> in advance for details on access and payment procedures.<\/p>\n In addition, the Bar\u00e3o Geraldo and Cidade Universit\u00e1ria areas surrounding the campus offer a wide variety of restaurants, caf\u00e9s, and local meal services, with many affordable options to the academic community.<\/p>\n Is there a registration fee?<\/strong><\/p>\n No. Registration and participation in SYMEP\u00b2 are completely free of charge.<\/p>\n Who can participate?<\/strong><\/p>\n SYMEP\u00b2 is primarily intended for undergraduate, MSc, and PhD students, as well as postdoctoral researchers, working in particle physics, astroparticle physics, and related areas. Participants from different institutions and at different stages of their academic careers are welcome.<\/p>\n Do I need to present my work to participate?<\/strong><\/p>\n No. Participants are welcome to attend the symposium without giving an oral or poster presentation. However, we encourage those interested to take the opportunity to present and discuss their work with other participants.<\/p>\n What research topics will be covered?<\/strong><\/p>\n The final program will depend on the submitted contributions. The symposium welcomes contributions across a broad range of topics in particle physics, astroparticle physics, and related areas. Please refer to the About the Event<\/strong> section above for a more detailed list of topics.<\/p>\n When will the program be available?<\/strong><\/p>\n The detailed program will be announced after registration closes on September 1, once the submitted contributions have been reviewed and the presentation schedule has been finalized.<\/p>\n Can I give my presentation in Portuguese?<\/strong><\/p>\n Yes. Presentations may be given in either Portuguese or English.<\/p>\n Will certificates be provided?<\/strong><\/p>\n Yes. Certificates will be issued to all registered participants and will indicate the type of participation: attendance, oral presentation, or poster presentation.<\/p>\n Are coffee breaks included?<\/strong><\/p>\n Yes. Coffee breaks will be provided during the event at no additional cost to participants.<\/p>\n
