In 2010 he was accepted to the Paristech double-degree program and awarded with a scholarship granted by the Brazilian government (Brafitec, CAPES). In 2011, he worked on the implementation of phase-locking between single-frequency diode lasers by electronic feedback for generating frequency combs at the Lasers and Applications Group (Unicamp). In 2012, Mario worked as R&amp;D Engineering intern at Coherent Inc., Santa Clara, USA where he carried out research on the development of high-power optically pumped VECSELs emitting at 1180 nm and 1260 nm.\u00a0Mario is a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Newton Frateschi since August 2013. He has been exploring novel optical signal processing functionalities using coupled microresonators.
