Between 2012 and 2013, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institut N\u00e9el in Grenoble, France. Between 2014 and 2016, I returned to UFMG for another postdoctoral fellowship. Since 2017, I have been a professor in the Department of Applied Physics at IFGW.<\/p>\n<p>I am currently an Associate Professor.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 39px\">\n<td style=\"width: 50%;height: 39px\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Research interests: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Since my doctorate, I&#8217;ve been working in the field of <span style=\"color: #993300\"><strong>experimental quantum information<\/strong><\/span>, focusing on <span style=\"color: #993300\"><strong>optics<\/strong><\/span>. Currently, my main interest is the development of important technologies to enable quantum information processing using light.<\/p>\n<p>Quantum computing holds great promise, but there&#8217;s still a long way to go before it can be used to <span style=\"color: #993300\"><strong>solve problems relevant to society<\/strong><\/span>. To overcome the many obstacles along the way, we must <span style=\"color: #993300\"><strong>develop innovative solutions<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #993300\"><strong>advance knowledge<\/strong><\/span> in areas such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Novel photon emitters<\/li>\n<li>New architectures and algorithms for photonic quantum computing<\/li>\n<li>Design, fabrication, and control of photonic processors<\/li>\n<li>Integration of sources, processor, and detectors, on a single chip<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Academic profile: I received my undergraduate (2004), master&#8217;s (2007), and doctorate (2011) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais.
