You can now use the Internet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Visa&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Visitors to Brazil must obtain a visa from a Brazilian Consulate (in some cases, Embassy) unless they come from a visa-exempt country \u2013 check the list of countries for a visa required at the following links: 1)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/mre\/pt-br\/assuntos\/portal-consular\/arquivos\/arquivos-qgrv\/qgrv-simples-ing-14mar22.pdf\">English<\/a>&nbsp;(see the \u201ccaption\u201d on the first page and column \u201cVivis \u2013 Visit Visa\u201d in the table for the corresponded visa information); 2)&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/mre\/pt-br\/assuntos\/portal-consular\/arquivos\/arquivos-qgrv\/qgrv_simples_-port-_14fev22.pdf\">Portugu\u00eas version<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions, it is strongly recommended that you check with your local Brazilian diplomatic mission to see if you need to apply for a tourist visa beforehand. <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/mre\/pt-br\/assuntos\/portal-consular\/reparticoes-consulares-do-brasil\/reparticoes-consulares-do-brasil\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Consular Offices of Brazil<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Information on this topic can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.br\/mre\/pt-br\/assuntos\/portal-consular\/vistos\/informacoes-sobre-vistos-para-estrangeiros-viajarem-ao-brasil\">Brazilian Consulate portal<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Important<\/b>: bear in mind you must apply for a visa in advance, at least 2 months before the intended travel to have enough time to get it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Passport&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The passport must be valid for at least&nbsp;<b>six months<\/b>&nbsp;beyond your planned departure date from Brazil.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Travel Insurance&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may consider an insurance policy of your choice to protect your interests in relation to cancellations, medical expenses, loss, or damage to personal property. The conference organizers cannot take any responsibility for participants failing to arrange their own insurance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"standard-arrow list-divider bullet-top\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Currency<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>REAL (R$) is the currency used in Brazil. It is possible to find some options for exchanging money at the airports or in the city of Campinas.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Climate<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The climate is tropical but mitigated by elevation. April is autumn in Brazil; the weather is mild (warm) and generally dry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"standard-arrow list-divider bullet-top\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Tipping<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tips in bars and restaurants are already included in the bill, which corresponds to 10% of the total amount spent. In some places, the waiter\/waitress will ask if they can add the \u201cservice fee\u201d, as it may be called. Although not mandatory, it is very common to accept.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong>Electricity<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In Brazil, the voltage is 127 or 220 V, depending on the city. In Campinas, the voltage is 127 V and 60HZ.
