About me

Academic profile:

I received my undergraduate (2004), master’s (2007), and doctorate (2011) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Between 2012 and 2013, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institut Néel in Grenoble, France. Between 2014 and 2016, I returned to UFMG for another postdoctoral fellowship. Since 2017, I have been a professor in the Department of Applied Physics at IFGW.

I am currently an Associate Professor.

Research interests:

Since my doctorate, I’ve been working in the field of experimental quantum information, focusing on optics. Currently, my main interest is the development of important technologies to enable quantum information processing using light.

Quantum computing holds great promise, but there’s still a long way to go before it can be used to solve problems relevant to society. To overcome the many obstacles along the way, we must develop innovative solutions and advance knowledge in areas such as:

  • Novel photon emitters
  • New architectures and algorithms for photonic quantum computing
  • Design, fabrication, and control of photonic processors
  • Integration of sources, processor, and detectors, on a single chip
