Study shows the usefulness of DCS/DOS to evaluation of PAD patients

The article entitled “Diffuse optical characterization of an exercising patient group with peripheral artery disease,” by RC Mesquita et al., was recently published in the Journal of Biomedical Optics. The work shows that combined measurements of DCS and DOS in posterior muscle is feasible during the exercise, and it can be used to quantify the severity of peripheral diseases.
